KreditPro and eFishery Collaboration Supports Aquaculture in Indonesia Through the Kabayan Program

Jakarta – As one of the P2P lending platforms from Digiasia Bios, KreditPro is still trying to support the program launched by the government, announcing its collaboration with one of the pioneer aquaculture startups in Indonesia, eFishery. The mission carried out in this collaboration focuses on optimizing digital services to spur the effectiveness of lending to cultivators in Indonesia.

Looking at the positive performance record in the first quarter of 2022 in the fisheries sector, which recorded a surplus of USD 1.39 billion in the trade balance, an increase of 21.78% compared to the same period the previous year. This achievement is recognized by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) as the result of the government’s flagship programs, one of which is the MSME empowerment program through collaboration and financial management to digital marketing.

To support this program, KreditPro collaborates with eFishery, one of the first Aquaculture Intelligence startups in Indonesia to develop innovations in the aquaculture sector. Empowerment of MSMEs or cultivators is carried out by eFishery through the Kasih Bayar Nanti (Kabayan) program, which this time collaborates with KreditPro to increase the ratio of lending to farmers, raise the credit ceiling, and increase the number of cultivators who access people’s business credit (KUR) financing in Indonesia.

“We are proud to be partnering with one of the big startup companies such as eFishery which increases the empowerment of farmers through the Kabayan program. This collaboration will certainly have a positive impact on both companies, especially for fish cultivators and SMEs in the Indonesian fisheries sector,” said CreditPro Vice President Rizky Jonathan.

Rizky admits that this collaboration is also expected to promote the welfare of cultivators who have entered the ecosystem built by eFishery. This aims to support government programs in the development of ecosystems and commodities in the Indonesian aquaculture sector so that they can all be export-oriented.

Gibran Huzaifah, CEO and Co-Founder of eFishery said that this mission is still a priority for eFishery to date. “Since the Kabayan program was launched in 2020, eFishery has provided financial access to more than 10 thousand farmers with a total loan of IDR 526.19 billion. In the future, we also plan to target more than 30,000 cultivators through this Kabayan program. By collaborating with KreditPro, we believe we can have a greater impact on cultivators.”

The collaboration between KreditPro and eFishery is carried out on the Kabayan program, which is a financial service from eFishery, made specifically for freshwater fish farmers in Indonesia. Service

Kabayan is part of the eFisheryFund, a program from eFishery that opens access for farmers to various financial services.

“Through this, we are optimistic that we can continue to support the business development of cultivators by accelerating MSME financing with eFishery,” continued Rizky.

The collaboration with eFishery is a new portfolio for KreditPro, which always shows its commitment to advancing financial digitalization in Indonesia. Through this collaboration, KreditPro and eFishery also hope to support economic development, especially in the aquaculture sector, so that it becomes one of the driving forces of the Indonesian economy today.
